I have been waiting for people to begin a conversation about Outreach Services and what these services can mean for the brothers and their wives. I have not had any takers so I am posing a questions to at least those of you who I have told about the blog. What do you need? What are the types of services that you see are lacking in your communities? For us to plan long term for Outreach Services, we need the input from as many brothers as possible in as many communities across the state as possible. I will not know what you need unless you communicate your needs with me and assist me in delivering the kinds of services you see are lacking. I am writing an article today for all of the newspapers who have been kind enough to allow me to publish the Outreach Services article in their newspapers and newsletters about volunteerism. In this article I am also asking for volunteers. Right now we have been approved to allow transportation and household maintenance activities. If you can see it in your heart to devote a few hours a month to this worthy cause, please click on the "Volunteers" tab and complete the Volunteer Information Sheet and send it off to me as soon as possible. I am putting together a volunteer data base and would like to include as many of you as possible across the state in the data base. that way, when the call comes in for help, I will have volunteers ready to go to work. My nurse case manager, Marcia Washburn, and I will will be putting on trainings for any activities that volunteers feel they need training to perform. In the meantime, we will be glad to take your calls and answer any questions you might have about the volunteer assignment you are taking on as part of the Masonic family. Please - go there now and fill out the form. If you have any questions, you can reach me at mcraves-hollands@mrcwa.org or 206-878-8434/1-800-820-4630 Ext. 101. I look forward to hearing from you!
